Aol Mail Settings For Windows 10

AOL Mail is now becoming popular every day. As it allows the users to access the email accounts from any device, it becomes easier to handle email messages. But make sure that you configure the AOL Mail settings if you wish to have the email account as POP or IMAP on desktop email clients like Thunderbird, Outlook, Mailbird, Apple Mail, and Windows Mail. Here, we discuss configuring the AOL Mail settings in the Windows 10 Mail app.

POP:

  • Step 1:Incoming mail server name: pop.aol.com
  • Step 2:Incoming server port: 995
  • Step 3:Security type: SSL
  • Step 4:Username: Your AOL email address
  • Step 5:Password: Your AOL email account password

IMAP:

  • Step 1:Incoming mail server name: imap.aol.com
  • Step 2:Incoming server port: 993
  • Step 3:Security type: SSL
  • Step 4:Username: Your AOL email address
  • Step 5:Password: Your AOL email account password

SMTP:

  • Step 1:Outgoing mail server name: smtp.aol.com
  • Step 2:Outgoing server port: 465
  • Step 3:Security type: SSL/TLS

Configuring the AOL Mail settings in the Windows 10 Mail app:

  • Step 1:On your Windows computer, launch the Mail app from the Start menu.
  • Step 2:In the Mail app, click the Settings icon at the bottom-left corner.
  • Step 3:Select the Manage accounts option from the Settings menu.
  • Step 4:Click the Add account button.
  • Step 5:Select the Advanced setup option from the menu that appears with a list of email service providers.
  • Step 6:Next, click on Internet email.
  • Step 7:On the Internet email account screen, enter your AOL email address in the Email address field.
  • Step 8:In the User name and Password fields, input your AOL email address and password, respectively.
  • Step 9:Give a name for your email account. This name should be entered in the Account name field.
  • Step 10:Below Incoming email server, enter the incoming mail server name.
  • Step 11:From the Account type drop-down menu, choose either IMAP or POP as your account type.
  • Step 12:Below Outgoing (SMTP) email server, enter the outgoing email server name.
  • Step 13:You should select the following checkboxes to make the authentication trouble-free.
  • Step 14:Outgoing server requires authentication
  • Step 15:Use the same user name and password for sending email
  • Step 16:Require SSL for incoming email
  • Step 17:Require SSL for outgoing email
  • Step 18:After selecting all four checkboxes, click the Sign In button.
  • Step 19:Once the authentication is completed, send a test email to check the account setup.
