- Step 1:Launch the email client installed on the computer.
- Step 2:Select the File menu and choose Account Settings to resolve cannot send email using Gmail server.
- Step 3:Click on the existing Gmail account, which is previously added to the Outlook.
- Step 4:In the Account Settings window of the account, under the E-mail panel, select Change.
- Step 5:The Change Account window appears, check the user, server, and logon information of the account.
- Step 6:In the Outgoing mail server category, see if it is “smtp.gmail.com” and click the More Settings button to solve cannot send email using Gmail server.
- Step 7:Go to the Outgoing Server tab in the Internet E-mail Settings window, enable the SMTP authentication, and enter the logon information and click OK.
- Step 8:Now, move to the Advanced tab, set the port number of the SMTP server to 465, and choose SSL as encryption connection.
- Step 9:Otherwise, set the port number to 587 for the TLS/STARTTLS encryption connection.
- Step 10:After that, select Done to save the server settings.
