Em Client Not Enough Disk Quota - [SOLVED]

Usually, email data is stored on the IMAP server and it is synced with the desktop email client (if applicable), which stores them in a local cache file on your computer. If the eM Client application installed on your computer says “not enough disk quota,” then you might have exceeded the disk space on your computer. It is because the eM Client does not enforce any size limits on your database. Generally, eM Client’s database folder is stored on your computer. Sometimes, freeing up your disk space can resolve the error. To troubleshoot the eM Client not enough disk quota issues further, go through the solutions given below.

Solution 1: Delete Email From The Server

  • Step 1: If you are already into eM Client, go to your email account and make a right-click on it.
  • Step 2: Select the Properties option followed by Quota.
  • Step 3: Check the storage quota for your email. If you have exceeded the size limit, delete few unwanted emails from the mail server (for IMAP accounts).
  • Step 4: You can also change the server settings in eM Client to automatically delete email messages from the server, but the email account must have been configured using POP.
  • Step 5: To begin with, click the Tools menu and select Accounts from the drop-down list.
  • Step 6: Choose your email account in the Accounts window and go to the POP3 tab.
  • Step 7: Deselect the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox and click OK.
  • Step 8: Now, restart the eM Client app and check if the eM Client not enough disk quota error has been fixed.

Solution 2: Change The eM Client Database Location

  • Step 1: If you have more space on D or E drive than C drive, you can shift the eM Client database location to your desired location.
  • Step 2: The actual path of eM Client’s database is ‘C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\eM Client’ and it can be changed from the eM Client app.
  • Step 3: Now, open eM Client, click the Menu button, and select Settings.
  • Step 4: Click General and then select Storage.
  • Step 5: You can now change the database folder location. However, eM Client may say “not enough disk quota” again because the change in database location will not transfer your data. Instead, it will create a new database.
  • Step 6: To transfer your data, turn off eM Client and then move the data from the existing database to the newly created database folder to solve eM Client not enough disk quota issue.
