GMX Outlook Settings - Complete Guide

The GMX email account --- which is a free email service --- includes a Mail Collector, Address Book, and Organizer. It protects the user from viruses and spam. You can access your GMX emails using a web browser or email client application. Follow the GMX Outlook settings instructions given below to configure GMX mail in Outlook 2013 and 2016.

GMX Outlook 2016 Settings:

  • Step 1: Log in to your GMX email account in a web browser and navigate to the E-mail tab. Then select Settings > POP3 & IMAP.
  • Step 2: Make sure to choose the Send and receive emails via an external program (Outlook, Thunderbird) checkbox.
  • Step 3: Press Apply and save the settings.
  • Step 4: Now, you have to launch Outlook 2016. Under the File menu, select Info > Add Account to set up a new account.
  • Step 5: Enter your GMX email address in the provided field.
  • Step 6: Select the Advanced options link and select the Let me set up my account manually checkbox.
  • Step 7: Choose the account type as IMAP.
  • Step 8: Enter the following under the IMAP Account Settings dialog box:

  • Step 11: Port: 993
  • Step 12: Encrypted connection: (SSL/TLS)
  • Step 13: Outgoing mail:
  • Step 14: Server:
  • Step 15: Port: 587
  • Step 16: Encryption method: STARTTLS
  • Step 17: Click the Connect button on the IMAP Account Settings dialog box.
  • Step 18: Under the login dialog box, enter your email address and password.
  • Step 19: Press OK and sync your GMX account with Outlook 2016.
  • Step 20: You've successfully done the GMX Outlook settings process.

GMX Outlook 2013 Settings:

  • Step 1:Launch Outlook 2013, then select File > Info > Add Account.
  • Step 2:Select Manual setup or additional server types under the Add Account dialog box.
  • Step 3:Click on the POP or IMAP radio button and enter your name and email address.
  • Step 4:Select the account type as IMAP. In the Incoming server field, enter Similarly, in the Outgoing mail server field, enter

  • Step 6:Click on the Outgoing Server tab and check the My outgoing server requires authentication checkbox.

  • Step 11:Encrypted connection type: TLS
  • Step 12:Finish the GMX Outlook settings process by clicking Apply.
