- Step 1: Since the blocking feature is not available in the Outlook app, open the default browser on your computer and navigate to the official Outlook webmail site.
- Step 2: Log in to your Hotmail account with the help of the login credentials.
- Step 3: Locate the email that you wish to mark as junk.
- Step 4: Click the checkbox near the email on the Inbox screen.
- Step 5: Once you have selected the junk email, click the Junk tab next to Archive in the Outlook mailbox.
- Step 6: Now, the selected email will be moved to the Junk folder.
- Step 7: Navigate to the left-side panel and give a right-click on the Junk Email folder.
- Step 8: Select the Empty folder option from the pop-up menu.
- Step 9: Click OK to confirm your action.
- Step 10: Now, the Junk folder will be cleared and the selected emails and the recipients will be marked as Spam or Junk.
- Step 11: To block the junk mail, click the Settings icon at the top-right corner of the screen and select Options from the drop-down menu.
- Step 12: Navigate to the left-side panel and click the Junk Email folder.
- Step 13: Select the Filters and Reporting submenu and go to the right side of the window.
- Step 14: On the Filters and Reporting screen, click the Exclusive radio button underneath Choose a junk email filter.
- Step 15: This will block the junk emails on your Hotmail account.
- Step 16: Once it is done, you won’t receive any emails from the recipients marked as Spam.
- Step 17: Click the Save button at the top of the Filters and Reporting screen to save the changes.
