IMAP Icloud Mail Settings - Quick Steps

You can check all your iCloud emails using an email client like Outlook. For this, you have to configure your email account using the IMAP iCloud Mail settings.The incoming mail server and outgoing mail server settings of your iCloud Mail account are provided below for your reference.

Incoming mail server - IMAP iCloud Mail settings

  • Step 1:Server name -

Generate iCloud app password

Step 1

  • Step 1:Launch a web browser and visit the login page of your iCloud account.

Step 2

  • Step 1:To access your iCloud account, type your iCloud email address and password in the Apple ID and Password fields, respectively.

Step 3

  • Step 1:Navigate to the Security section and go to the App-Specific Passwords field.
  • Step 2:Click the Generate Password link.

Step 4

  • Step 1:In the Use an app-specific password to sign in to an app or service not provided by Apple field, enter the name of the application you want to configure your iCloud Mail account.
  • Step 2:Click the Create button to generate the app-specific password.

Step 5

  • Step 1:Copy the generated app-specific password. Or else, make a note of it.
  • Step 2:Click the Done button and continue with the following steps to set up your email account using the IMAP iCloud Mail settings.

Configure your iCloud Mail account

Step 1

  • Step 1:On the desktop of your Windows computer, find the Outlook icon and double-click it.

Step 2

  • Step 1:Once the Outlook email client's main interface appears, click the File tab on the top-left corner.

Step 3

  • Step 1:When the next page opens, navigate to the Info tab in the left panel.
  • Step 2:Click the Add Account button in the main panel.

Step 4

  • Step 1:On the Add Account screen, select the Manual setup or additional server types radio button.
  • Step 2:Click the Next button to proceed further in the email setup.

Step 5

  • Step 1:Select the POP or IMAP radio and click the Next button in the Choose Service window.

Step 6

  • Step 1:Go to the User Information section and type your display name in the Your Name field.
  • Step 2:In the Email Address field, enter your iCloud email address.
  • Step 3:Navigate to the Server Information section.
  • Step 4:For the IMAP iCloud Mail settings, choose the IMAP option from the Account Type drop-down menu.
  • Step 5:Type in the Incoming mail server field.
  • Step 6:Navigate to the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field, enter
  • Step 7:Go to the Logon Information section. Type your iCloud email address in the Username field.
  • Step 8:Enter the app-specific password in the Password field.
  • Step 9:Navigate to the Test Account Settings section and select the Automatically test account settings when Next is clicked checkbox.
  • Step 10:Click the More Settings button on the Add Account screen.

Step 7

  • Step 1:In the Internet E-mail Settings window, click Outgoing Server and select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
  • Step 2:Now, click the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button.
  • Step 3:For the iCloud Mail IMAP port settings, click the Advanced tab.
  • Step 4:Type 993 in the Incoming server (IMAP) field.
  • Step 5:For the incoming mail server settings, choose the SSL option from the Use the following type of encrypted connection drop-down menu.
  • Step 6:In the Outgoing server (SMTP) field, enter 587.
  • Step 7:For the outgoing mail server settings, select the TLS option from the Use the following type of encrypted connection menu.
  • Step 8:To save the port settings, click the OK button in the Internet E-mail Settings window.

Step 8

  • Step 1:Test your email account settings by clicking the Next button on the Add Account screen.

Step 9

  • Step 1:If the email account settings are configured correctly, click the Close button.
  • Step 2:When you see the You’re all set message, click the Finish button.
  • Step 3:Now, you have finished your email account settings using the IMAP iCloud Mail settings.
