- Step 1:
Open the Outlook page on your PC and select the File menu from the top of the page.
- Step 2:
Choose Account settings.
- Step 3:
Select the Email tab on the account settings page and click on the New option to add a new email account.
- Step 3:
Add account dialogue box will pop up on the desktop, click Next.
- Step 4:
Select Manual setup from the bottom of the page and click Next.
- Step 5:
You can choose either POP3 or IMAP option on the server window page and click Next.
- Step 6:
Make sure that you have the required Lycos email account details.
- Step 7:
If you choose the POP3 option, provide the POP3 Server name as pop.lycos.com and 995 in the Port field. Enter the username, Lycos email address, and the password in the required field.
- Step 8:
If you choose the IMAP option, then provide the IMAP Server name as imap.lycos.com and 993 in the Port field. Enter the username, Lycos email address, and the password in the respective fields.
- Step 9:
Click Next after providing the required details to configure lycos email settings.
- Step 10:
On the Outgoing mail server info, type smtp.mail.lycos.com in the SMTP Server box and 465 in the Port field.
- Step 11:
Make sure that you have provided the correct details and then, click the More settings option.
- Step 12:
The Internet email settings page pops up on your desktop. Click on the Outgoing server tab.
- Step 13:
Check whether the My outgoing server requires an authentication option is selected. If not, select it and make sure that the Use same settings as my incoming server option is enabled.
- Step 14:
Click OK after performing all the steps mentioned above.
- Step 15:
Select Test account settings to verify the email settings provided and click on the Finish option to complete the setup for Lycos email settings.
