- Step 1: Click the Mail icon in the dock to open the Mail application on your Mac computer.
- Step 2: Alternatively, go to the Applications folder and select the Mail application.
- Step 3: Navigate to the File menu, select the Add Account option, and choose the IMAP option from the Account Type menu.
- Step 4: Fill the Account Description field.
- Step 5: Type the AOL email account’s email address in the Email Address field and click the Continue option.
- Step 6: Enter ‘imap.aol.com’ in the Incoming Mail Server field.
- Step 7: Fill both the User Name and Password fields with the correct information and then select the Continue option.
- Step 8: Type ‘smtp.aol.com’ in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
- Step 9: Select the checkbox next to the Use Authentication option.
- Step 10: Provide your username and password in the Outgoing Mail Server section.
- Step 11: Click the Continue option followed by the Done option.
- Step 13: Check if you can send and receive emails using your AOL email account configured in Mac Mail.
- Step 14: If you face any problem in accessing your email, proceed with the steps mentioned below.
- Step 15: In the main window of the Mail application, click the Mail tab and choose the Preferences option.
- Step 16: Go to the Accounts tab, select the AOL email account, and click Account Information.
- Step 17: Check if the information is correct. If not, change it.
- Step 18: Go to the Server Settings tab and check if the AOL option has been selected from the Outgoing Mail Account drop-down menu.
