Solve: Mac Mail Attachments Problem

Step 1: On your Mac, open the Mail application.

Step 2: Expand the Mailbox menu.

Step 3: Select the Rebuild option.

Step 4: Wait for some time while your email mailbox(es) are rebuilding.

Step 5: Once it is done, navigate to the Mail menu.

Step 6: Select the Preferences option followed by Accounts. Choose the email account that you have encountered Mac mail attachments problem.

Step 7: Go to the Account Information tab.

Step 8: Select the All option from the Download Attachments drop-down menu.

Step 9: Exit from the Preferences window.

Step 10: Now, open the mail and check if the attachment is visible.

Step 1: On macOS, you can see a file called resource fork that stores file information like type, metadata, icon, and more.
Step 2: But, in other operating systems, you can’t find this file. So, when you try to mail this file to any other email client, it is delivered as extra unreadable files.
Step 3: To avoid this situation, enable the Always Send Windows-Friendly attachments option.
Step 4: To do so, click Edit > Attachments. Select the Always Send Windows-Friendly attachments option to avoid such Mac mail attachments problem.
