- Step 1: Unlock your iPhone and tap the Settings app.
- Step 2: Firstly, you have to remove your email account from the Mail app and then perform the below steps to add your email account to Mail using IMAP.
- Step 2: On the Settings screen, select the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars tab and choose the Add account option.
- Step 3: If you don’t find your email provider, select the Other Add Mail Account option.
- Step 4: When the Add Mail Account wizard appears, fill all the details correctly by following the info given below to fix mail Imap not responding issue.
- Step 5: Enter your account name correctly. This name will be displayed to your recipients when you send an email.
- Step 6: Type the email address of your Hotmail account.
- Step 7: Enter the password of your Hotmail account.
- Step 8: Type the description of your Hotmail account.
- Step 9: Tap the Next button.
- Step 10: Enter the incoming mail server details, as shown below.
- Step 11: Choose the account type as IMAP.
- Step 12: The incoming mail server address is imap-mail.outlook.com.
- Step 13: Type the port number as 993.
- Step 14: Choose the Encryption type as SSL.
- Step 15: Enter the outgoing server details properly.
- Step 16: The outgoing mail server address is smtp-mail.outlook.com.
- Step 17: In the Username section, enter your email address.
- Step 18: Enter the password of your Outlook account correctly to fix mail Imap not responding issue.
- Step 19: Once you have entered the incoming and outgoing server details, click on the Save button.
- Step 20: Navigate to the Outgoing mail server tab and select the SMTP option.
- Step 21: Make sure to enter the correct details as given below.
- Step 22: The SMTP port number is 587.
- Step 23: Choose the encryption type as TLS.
- Step 24: Once the settings are saved, touch the Done button.
- Step 25: Now, check the mail server settings again and restart your iPhone.
- Step 26: The mail IMAP not responding issue will be fixed.
