Setting Up Wd My Cloud Ex2 Ultra For The First Time

In the box:

Physical setup

  • Step 1:Keep your WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra device and the router closer.
  • Step 2:Connect your WD device to the router using the provided Ethernet cable.
  • Step 3:Using the power cord, connect your WD device into an electrical outlet.
  • Step 4:Now, power on your WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra device.
  • Step 5:Once the power LED on the drive turns solid blue, you’re ready to perform the software installation.

Software setup

  • Step 1:On your Windows or Mac computer, open a web browser.
  • Step 2:Type the web address in the search field
  • Step 3:Press theEnterbutton.
  • Step 4:Now, you can see the My Cloudwindow.
  • Step 5:Select your language from the drop-down menu.
  • Step 6:Click the checkbox beside theI agree to the WD End User License Agreementoption.
  • Step 7:When prompted, create an administrator password.
  • Step 8:Create a strong password and enter it in the required field.
  • Step 9:Make sure not to use the characters such as ‘@ : / % \’in your password. ClickNext.
  • Step 10:Set the admin permissions correctly.
  • Step 11:If required, register your WD device when prompted.
  • Step 12:Perform the prompts displayed on the screen.
  • Step 13:Once you have done the setup successfully, click theFinishbutton.
