THUNDERBIRD GET MESSAGES NOT WORKING

Thunderbird Get Messages button almost acts as a refresh button. When you click the Get Messages button, Thunderbird pulls any messages (haven't been displayed on your inbox) that have been sent to you. What will happen if the Thunderbird Get Messages button is not working? You won't be able to fetch messages instantly if you haven't received them.For a selected mail account, the Get Messages button will work. And, the Get All New Message in the Get Messages drop-down menu will automatically work on all mail accounts And, if you have enabled Include this server when getting new mail, then it will download mail when you select the Get Messages button. This is for a Global Inbox type of account.

  • Step 1:Go to Tools --> Account Settings.
  • Step 2:Click the Server Settings for the mail account option.
  • Step 3:Select the Advanced option.
  • Step 4:Here, make sure you have selected Inbox for different Account Global Inbox (Local Folders).
  • Step 5:Next, select Include this server when getting new mail.
  • Step 6:Click OK.
  • Step 7:Again, click OK to save the changes.

IMAP Sync in Thunderbird

It checks the synchronization state between the email server and the Thunderbird message repository whenever you launch Thunderbird. Solution for sync issue in Thunderbird

If the email sent to you isn't received on your Thunderbird, make the following changes in the Account Settings.

  • Step 1:Go to the Tool/Account Settings option.
  • Step 2:At the top of Server Settings, check the Server Type.
  • Step 3:Make sure the Server Type is IMAP.
  • Check The Server Type
  • Step 4:In the Folder Pane, right-click the account.
  • Step 5:Click Subscribe.
  • Step 6:Next, click Refresh.
  • Step 7:Now, check if the Sent folder is subscribed.
  • Step 8:Also, check whether the correct folder is chosen in the Copies & Folder section under Account Settings.

THUNDERBIRD OUTGOING MAIL NOT WORKING

Thunderbird cannot send messages if you've made any wrong settings. So, check the Outgoing mail server settings and make the necessary changes. Once changes are made, you will be able to send messages

  • Description:Name for your SMTP server.
  • Server Name:Your outgoing mail server address.
  • Default port:Enter 25 or 587
  • Connection security:Choose your desired connection security.
  • Authentication Method:Choose from the drop-down list.
  • User Name:Your mail ID.

Delete the SMTP password

  • Step 1:Go to Tools --> Options.
  • Step 2:Click Security --> Password.
  • Step 3:Here, you can delete the SMTP password and configure your email account.
  • Step 4:Launch the Thunderbird application and go to the ISP site if you wish to reset the SMTP password.
  • Step 5:Click Reset Password.
  • Step 6:Create a new password for your account.

Verify the SMTP server

To send a message, you must use the correct SMTP server settings.
