- Step 1:If you are using the Windows Mail app for your emails, go to the Mail Settings section.
- Step 2:Select the Manage Accounts tab and choose your email account in which you can’t download the messages.
- Step 3:Click Change Mailbox Sync Settings and checkmark the Always Download Full Message and Internet Images option. Then, save your settings.
- Step 4:Ensure that the This server requires an encrypted SSL connection checkbox is selected under Sync options.
- Step 5:Also, turn on the Email and Calendar toggle witches under Sync options.
- Step 6:If you have not allowed Calendar access, you may not be able to download messages.
- Step 7:Click the Start menu and launch Settings.
- Step 8:Select the Privacy section and navigate to the Calendar section.
- Step 9:Now, turn on the toggle in the Calendar section to allow apps to access the calendar.
- Step 10:Select the Mail app in the Choose apps that can access calendar section.
- Step 11:Open the Mail application and check whether you can download messages.
- Step 12:If the Windows 10 mail won’t download messages issue persists, update the Mail app.
- Step 13:Press the Windows and I buttons together to open the Settings application.
- Step 14:Navigate to the Update & Security section and click on the Check for updates button.
- Step 15:If you find an update, install it.
- Step 16:Make sure that you have a fast internet connection to download and install the update.
- Step 17:Once the update is installed, restart your computer.
- Step 18:Open the Windows Mail app and verify whether you can download messages.
- Step 19:If you still can’t download messages, go to the Settings app.
- Step 20:Select the Accounts section and click the Sync your settings tab on the left panel.
- Step 21:Now, turn off the toggle switch under Sync settings and restart your computer.
- Step 22:If the issue is not yet resolved, remove your email account from the Mail app.
- Step 23:Add the email account again to fix the Windows 10 mail won’t download messages issue.
