Step 1: Checking the credentials

Initially, check whether you can access your Zoho Mail account using the mobile application or over the web. If yes, then check whether you have entered the correct credentials while signing in to your account. If not, enter the correct credentials. Reset your Zoho Mail account password if you have forgotten it.

Step 2: Unblock your account

If the Zoho Mail account is not working in Outlook, then check whether your account is blocked. Generally, if your account’s mailbox storage exceeds 5 GB, this issue might appear. In this case, contact the Zoho Mail support to unblock your account.

Step 3: Generate an app-specific password

Check if the 2-factor authentication is enabled for your Zoho Mail account. If yes, generate an app-specific password to resolve this Zoho Mail not working in Outlook issue. To do so,

  • Step 1 : Go to the zoho.com page.
  • Step 2 : Click on the Security option.
  • Step 3 : Select App Passwords > Generate New Passwords.
  • Step 4 : In the given field, type Outlook and click on the Generate  option.

Now, the application-specific password will be created automatically. Copy the generated password and use it to sign in to your account in Outlook.

Step 4: Modify the Outgoing server settings

In case the Authentication Required message is displayed on the screen while using the app-specific password, then follow the below instructions to resolve it.

  • Step 1 : Locate the More Settings option in the message window.
  • Step 2 : Go to the Outgoing server  section.
  • Step 3 : Select the options My outgoing server requires authentication and Use same settings as incoming server.
  • Step 4 : Now, go to the Advanced section, type 993 in the incoming server port,and select  SSL. 
  • Step 5 : Similarly, type 465 in the outgoing server port and type  SSL. 
  • Step 6 : Click the OK button followed by Test the settings.
